In this edition of Practice Thoughts, I reflect on connection and isolation, and what shapes our ability to feel belonging, safety, and support. I write about the systems of oppression that determine who gets access to community, how neighborhoods and norms are shaped by policy and economics, and my own experience growing up Jewish, white, and male in Maine — and what that's taught me about the cost and value of connection.
