Hi, I’m Shimon (he/him). I’m a licensed clinical social worker in Maine and Florida. I have a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and over 20 years of experience working with youth, adults, families, and communities, as well as teaching social work students and providing training to professionals.
I want to acknowledge this big step you are taking by engaging in therapy. I hope that I can be part of your wellness journey. I believe that we all have challenges in life and I am here to support you and help you navigate those challenges.
My approach is:
Collaborative
Person-centered
Culturally-affirming
Socially conscious
Trauma-informed
Engaging in therapy is a deeply personal experience. I strive to create a safe space where you will feel supported to work through whatever challenges you are facing.
I will take time to understand you in all ways you are comfortable sharing with me: your understanding of what is going on (the problem); your goals; and your relationships to family, friends, community, and larger social structures.
Therapy is an active process—we will collaborate in our work together. I look forward to hearing from you.
